The XIII Latin American Botanical Congress will take place from March 10 to 14 at the Havana Convention Center. The congress’ objectives are to promote botany in Latin America, stimulate relationships between botanists and Latin American botanical institutions, and represent the Latin American botanical community.
Latin American Botanical Congresses have historically been characterized as open spaces for all topics related to botanical research. Taking into account the international context, the Scientific Committee of the XIII Congress has adopted the General Themes proposed by the International Botanical Congress; however, it recommends not limiting the submission of any work related to botany, even if it is not directly reflected in the proposed general themes.
Topics include Systematics, Phylogeny, Biogeography and Evolution; Ecology, Environment and Climate Change, including Invasive Species; Plant-Animal and Plant-Plant Interactions; Phycology and Mycology; Biodiversity and Conservation; Structure, Physiology and Development; Genetics, Genomics and Bioinformatics; and Plants and Society.
