As part of the activities, the Prize named after the outstanding revolutionary intellectual was announced, and this year it will be directed to the Sciences of Education.
To celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary, the Center for Educational Studies “Gaspar Jorge García Galló” (CEEd) will carry out a program of activities lasting ten months, divided into three stages, which also has as motivations the external evaluation of the postgraduate academic program Master’s Degree in Pedagogical Sciences and the external institutional evaluation of the Central University “Marta Abreu” of Las Villas (UCLV) in the month of October.
The center, founded on March 8, 2000 and attached to the Faculty of Early Childhood Education belonging to the Félix Varela Pedagogical Sciences Headquarters, fulfills the mission of producing scientific knowledge in education based on consultancies, research and other organizational forms of postgraduate education.
This was confirmed by its director, Guillermo Soler Rodríguez, at the press conference offered on February 11. The first stage will run until March with activities including the call for the Gaspar Jorge García Galló Award, from the UCLV; the central event for the XXV anniversary of the Center for Educational Studies, on March 8, the Workshop on Management of scientific knowledge and continuing training of professionals in Educational Sciences, and the preparation of a book on experiences and good practices in teaching and research by members of the CEEd.
From April to June, the highlights are the alumni meeting, to present experiences in the continuity of research based on the results of the Master’s programs in Pedagogical Sciences and in Educational Sciences, and the Doctorate in Educational Sciences; and in the third stage, in October, the external evaluation of the postgraduate academic program Master’s in Pedagogical Sciences will be carried out.
During the development of the activities, tribute will be paid to the revolutionary intellectual Dr. C. Gaspar Jorge García Galló and the national Pedagogy awards Dr. C. Selva Dolores Pérez Silva and Dr. C. Juan Virgilio López Palacios.
Universidad Central «Marta Abreu» de Las Villas announces the Gaspar Jorge García Galló Award The Universidad Central «Marta Abreu» de Las Villas (UCLV) announces the Gaspar Jorge García Galló Award 2025, with the aim of publicly recognizing a scientific result of high importance for the country, and which this year will award in the area of Educational Sciences.
Scientific results achieved in an organization or institution of Higher Education will be considered for obtaining this award, with the exception of UCLV, and the main author of the result must be a Cuban citizen residing in Cuba, according to the information provided by the CEEd professor José Antonio Marimón at the press conference offered on February 11.
Marimón added that the work modalities that can be presented include doctoral theses, monographs, books, thematic compilations by authors, and other similar works. A single prize will be awarded, which consists of the winner’s participation as a guest at the UCLV International Scientific Convention, in October.
He or she will also receive the certificate of accreditation, from the hands of the rector of the UCLV, during the Symposium dedicated to Educational Sciences. All proposals for the prizes must be sent electronically in a single file and in PDF to the secretary of the University Scientific Council, Professor Norge Coello Machado, with a deadline for admission until June 15. Each of the proposals must be endorsed by the institution of which the author is a member.
