Osnay Miguel Colina Rodríguez, member of the Party Central Committee and its first secretary in Villa Clara, checked the operation of the LC3 Experimental Plant, intended for the production of low-carbon cement and the certification of construction material samples from rigorous physical, chemical and composition analyses.
The enclave is part of a conglomerate of high-tech laboratories of the “Marta Abreu” Central University of Las Villas and is directed by Dr. C. José Fernando Martirena Hernández, director of the Center for Research and Development of Structures and Materials (CIDEM) of that center of higher education in Villa Clara. The LC3 Experimental Plant of Low-carbon Cement of the UCLV constitutes a research focus. New materials, new automation processes and other innovations related to the construction industry are tested there, said the Villa Clara expert, José Fernando Martirena Hernández.
