Today, Monday, April 5, Villa Clara reports 18 new positive cases to COVID-19, of them, 2 imported, which arrived in the country from Colombia. There are 16 autochthonous cases, all with a specified source of infection. It is also known that 11 villagers infected with the coronavirus received a medical discharge in the last hours.
79 patients remain admitted to the hospital network, with COVID-19, 2 of them foreigners. 42 suspects of the disease and 920 direct contacts of positive cases are also currently being studied in different isolation centers. In addition, 1,186 real-time PCR tests were processed in the Molecular Biology Laboratory of the province, of which 824 were carried out by citizens of Villa Clara.
Dr. Gretza Sánchez Padrón, director of Public Health in the province, Dr. Neil Reyes Miranda, director of the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, and Milaxis Sánchez, deputy governor of Villa Clara, report that the incidence rate in the province right now is of 20.3 × 100 thousand inhabitants, of 5 which is established to be part of the stage of new normality. The municipalities with the highest incidence rate in the last 15 days are Cifuentes (48.9), Ranchuelo (42.4), Santa Clara (29.4), Remedios (27.7) and Manicaragua (28.2).
In home isolation, including quarantines, there are 2,578 homes, for a number of 5,686 people. There are also 119 travelers who arrived in the country who are in isolation centers and hotels such as Los Caneyes and La Granjita de Santa Clara.
