Summary
The work addresses a current, pertinent and necessary theme. Its objective is to prepare from the school, using good practices and networking, the community work groups of Villa Clara’s Turquino in terms of disaster risk. A qualitative quantitative research was developed, supported by the dialectical materialist method and methods of the theoretical, empirical and statistical-mathematical level were used. Community work groups were prepared taking into consideration the vulnerabilities to natural disasters identified in the area. Conferences, workshops, group work sessions based on geographic information systems, videos and information from the La Piedra seismological and meteorological station and the Hanabanilla dam were used as good practices; the experiences and anecdotes of those who participated; as well as practical and demonstrative activities developed by specialists. As results: it contributed to identify the main natural risks in the area, the consequences that they can generate, the most appropriate procedure and commitment to the fulfillment of social duty is appreciated. As conclusions: good practices and networking from the school contributed to the adequate preparation of the community work groups of Turquino Villa Clara in terms of disaster risk.
