SUMMARY
The present work is aimed at the implementation of an own methodology for the Integral Management of wastewater contaminated with hydrocarbons. It is made up of four basic stages that allow evaluating the current water management conditions and establishes the baseline for the integral management of these residuals from the technical, operational and environmental components. It can be applied to any organization or region and constitutes a tool for investment decision-making, on scientific and methodological grounds. The results obtained in the first three stages allow the classification and physical-chemical characterization of the residual water, turning out to be a toxic and dangerous residue, which has an added value from the economic, social and environmental benefits that the recovery of the fuel phase as a P+L option. The application of stage four makes it possible to propose a low-cost and low-technological complexity technology, consisting of a column filled with natural sugarcane bagasse followed by a constructed horizontal subsurface flow wetland, which achieves high removal efficiencies of contaminants present in wastewater contaminated with hydrocarbons.
