Summary
The thesis deals with the professional improvement in environmental education of the teachers of the Forestry specialty in Technical and Professional Education. It constitutes a fundamental element to respond to the social order of the school and achieve the incorporation of Environmental Education as a process aimed at the formation of values related to the environment, emphasizing the treatment of the Life Task. In the determination of needs, the willingness of teachers to prepare themselves theoretically and methodologically is verified. Among the deficiencies, limitations are evident in the theoretical-methodological preparation, the potentialities of the context are not taken advantage of, the value of the content of the teaching of the subjects, and the interdisciplinary nature of environmental education in the process of training the forester. The proposed professional improvement system combines the forms of improvement: course, workshops and training, interrelated with a constant self-preparation, which is organized in subsystems according to the predominance of theoretical preparation, the methodological one or the application to the pedagogical practice in the execution. of the forms of organization. The proposal was satisfactorily valued by the specialists consulted, who highlighted the relevance, the contents and its applicability, the indications made by them allow its improvement. Its application reveals the feasibility and possibilities of achieving positive changes, in addition to the modification of the modes of personal action in correspondence with social aspirations, which shows the possibilities of the system to contribute to environmental education, with emphasis on the Task Life.
