Summary
The economic development in MIC scenarios poses a threat to the integrity of the archaeological heritage in situ, since the investigations carried out by state centers are not capable of anticipating or amortizing the effects of the investment dynamics. For this reason, making intervention mechanisms increasingly efficient and expeditious is a challenge for Archeology today. Although some European countries have already implemented laws that guarantee the investigation prior to the transformation of plots destined for construction objects, in Cuba this need has not yet been identified; much less is it legislated. The province of Villa Clara is a pioneer in these initiatives through contractual actions CITMA-Gaviota SA, which allowed the execution of scientific-technical Archeology services in plots destined for tourism development projects in the NE keys. Here the results of two case studies carried out satisfactorily in the Caibarién municipality are presented: prospective and survey service, in favor of the release of a plot destined for a golf course; and salvage excavation, in favor of a mining loan for road construction. In each case, the negotiation keys are explained, as well as the final impacts are evaluated.
