The American laboratory Moderna, announced in a statement that its vaccine against Covid-19 has shown efficacy against variants of coronavirus in the United Kingdom and South Africa.
“Vaccination with Moderna’s Covid drug produced neutralizing titers against key emerging variants, including B.1.1.7 and B.1351, first detected in the UK and the Republic of South Africa respectively, the reported pharmaceutical.
Moderna experts reported the presence of a significant risk in decreasing the time of immunity against new variants of B.1.351. The specialists further noted that booster dose tests will be conducted against the South African, British strain and other recent variants.
On the other hand, the pharmaceutical company reported that its scientists did not record a significant impact on antibody titers against the British variant compared to other previously detected strains.
It is estimated that the substance can guarantee protection against all strains of coronavirus known so far, however the American pharmaceutical company is proactive to face the pandemic according to the evolution of the virus.
