The closing event —dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Behike line, one of the most exclusive in the portfolio of the mixed company Habanos S.A.— was attended by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, and Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister.

The 17,940,000 euros raised from the auction of six exclusive humidors, at the 15th edition of the Habanos Festival, will be destined for the National Public Health System.

This was confirmed at the closing gala of the event that took place on Friday night and where on the stage of the Pabexpo fairgrounds tradition, culture and tobacco were, once again, the protagonists.

The closing event, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Behike line, one of the most exclusive in the portfolio of the mixed company Habanos S.A., was attended by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, and Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister.

When welcoming the participants in the evening, Maritza Carrillo González and Luis Sánchez-Harguindey, co-presidents of Habanos S.A., highlighted that during the festival “we have explored the culture of tobacco and launched new products for fans” and thanked “the successful realization of the event thanks to the farmers, sponsors and various entities.” On the closing day, the Habanos 2024 Awards were presented, a recognition to those who have contributed significantly in the production, marketing and communication of this sector. Among them, Reinel Rojas Medina, a 34-year-old, stands out.

He became the new Habano man of the country by highlighting his dedication, effort and commitment to a legacy that has marked his family. With the participation of more than 3,300 attendees from 110 nations, the program of this Festival included visits to plantations in Pinar del Río and to cigar factories in Havana; it also featured master conferences, an International Seminar, a Trade Fair, and the traditional Auction, all with an unwavering commitment to excellence.
