Health in Villa Clara: Actions and purposes
Intersectoral work in the health field, especially in support of pregnant women. The need for collaboration between different entities and personnel, such as doctors and administrators, is mentioned to ensure that pregnant women receive quality care. During a meeting in Remedios, health indicators of the municipality were evaluated and several critical issues were discussed, such as the shortage of personnel in primary care and the need to open a geriatric ward in the local hospital. Work on the nursing home and improvements in its conditions were also addressed. The objectives of the Comprehensive Medical Care Program (PAMI) include reducing the rate of cesarean sections, increasing care for pregnant women and improving vaccination against leptospira. Vice Governor Noel Chinea Pérez emphasized the priority of human resources in the sector, highlighting the importance of recognition and protection of workers.
