The Italian Association Filorosso arrived, once again, in Villa Clara to leave another humanitarian mark aimed at strengthening the Health system of this central territory of Cuba.
From the city of Trento, located in northern Italy, close to the Alps, two ambulances for medical emergencies were donated with all the ultra-modern instruments and essential equipment for these purposes, which will have a noticeable impact on a depressed health system that According to statements by Dr. Juan José Pulido López, Provincial Director of Health, it is impossible to calculate the value it represents for the territory.
Each of the pieces of equipment is valued at 20,000 euros, while a single emergency lung ventilator incorporated inside is estimated at 2,150 euros, to name some of its components.
The solidarity load also includes two neonatal incubators, various medications including Paracetamol, Nifedipine, hypoglycemic injectable solution, and supplies for operating rooms, sterile compresses, syringes, masks and urine collection bags, among others.
It is not the first time that donations have been made to Villa Clara’s health, and previously the contributions have remained in the Maternity Home 2, located on Carretera Central and Doble Vía, as well as in the intensive care unit of the Celestino Hernández Robau cancer hospital , without counting other social projects that have benefited, from an integral point of view, the Manantiales community in Manicaragua municipality, schools in the province, and other Cuban points hit hard by meteorological disasters.
Defined as a non-profit humanitarian association of social utility, its president, Mr. Guido Gasperotti, who has been collaborating with Santa Clara for more than two decades, explained that the collaboration projects date some years ago due to the difficulties of economic resources that have increasingly narrowed plus humanitarian ties.
Accompanied by his wife, Marcella Maffei, also a member of the Association, along with Franco Battistata, Giancarlo Baldessari, Raisa Lock Pérez, an official from the Provincial Health Directorate, and Raúl Olalde Font, senior researcher at the “Marta Abreu” Central University of Las Villas, which acts as coordinator of each initiative, intends to continue the collaboration based on new objectives that contribute to the well-being of the population through its own actions and directly.
Filorosso bases its principles on solidarity, culture and cooperation, makes its contributions from fundraising with the majority participation of the population, is made up of about 50 voluntary members, and has links with the Italian Friendship Association— Cuba of Trent.
