The progress of the execution of the biopesticides and biofertilizers plant in the central province of the country foresees its completion in the first months of next year, according to Raydel Rodríguez Ponce, director of the UEB Labiofam Villa Clara Industrial Complex.This occupied the work agenda of Osnay Miguel Colina Rodríguez, member of the Central Committee and first secretary of the Party in the province, who arrived at the site to verify every detail of the work with decisive actions in the agroecological and economic development of the country when the price of fertilizers on the world market triples, and in March of last year it registered 908 dollars per ton.Once active, it will be registered as one of the entities of vital importance in the Cuban panorama by strengthening agricultural production through the use of biocontrollers and biofertilizers based on beneficial microorganisms that guarantee sustainable agriculture and replace the use and imports of chemical products.A distinctive feature that the Villa Clara consortium will have lies in the combination of liquid and solid bioproducts, unlike the one that exists in Havana.The latter will make it possible to produce a wettable powder as a homogeneous suspension that is easy to apply, opening the doors to exports and an international market linked to income destined for the economy, given that the majority of bioproducts worldwide are sold in powder form. .With its mission, the Labiofam Industrial Complex will make it easier for farmers to obtain lines of biopesticides and biofertilizers that contribute to the management of harmful agents for crops against insect attacks and diseases to the detriment of productive yields and the nutrition of crops.Among the advantages of biopreparations is the minimum energy requirement based on fossil fuels for their production, while at the same time they pose a lower risk of contamination to the environment after being manufactured from biodegradable substances with low or no toxicity.
