As part of the activities for the Educator’s Day, in Villa Clara the best teachers who promote reading in the province were recognized.

Irene Marta Casanova Ruiz, a seventh grade teacher at the “Marta Abreu” Special School and who has dedicated 38 years of her life to this institution, was one of the awarded teachers. In her words of gratitude, she told the CMHW that promoting interest and love for reading in students with intellectual disabilities has been difficult, but very rewarding.

The young Elisbet Rodríguez Pérez, teacher and head of the General Pedagogical Training Department at the “Manuel Ascunce Domenech” Pedagogical School, also won one of the provincial awards and expressed her passion for the Humanities since childhood.
